Students will learn the principles of quantum state estimation, and how to apply the concepts and methods in practical situations.
CQT, and those in Physics, Mathematics, and Statistics.
This module begins with a review of quantum mechanics to the extent needed here. There follows an introduction to statistics with an emphasis on frequentist vs Bayesian methodology. Then the concepts of quantum state estimation are introduced and illustrated at pertinent examples. Technical tools such as random sampling from the quantum state space are developed as necessary.
