THE EU AND ITS LAW

This course will develop your understanding of EU law and politics as well as your capacity critically to evaluate the institutional, substantive and constitutional dimensions of European integration. It will consider the nature of the EU as well as the challenges it presents to its Member States.
The course will provide an overview of the judicial architecture and political structures of the European Union, the authority of EU law, law-making procedures, and the most significant case law in free movement, citizenship, and fundamental rights. It will also introduce more complex questions about the dynamics and direction of the process of regional integration, particularly since the Euro crisis.
NUS Compulsory Core Curriculum or its equivalent.
