Introducing Pharmacology in 2 aspects
1. General concepts regarding mechanism(s) of actions (Pharmacodynamics, PD) of biological active drugs and how the body handles them (Pharmacokinetics, PK). The variability of these (PD and especially PK) makes it necessary for individualisation of therapy for the patient.
2. Drugs acting on different organ systems (e.g. cardiovascular, GI etc) will be dealt with in details with regards to their PD, PK, therapeutic use(s) and adverse effects. (Note: Drugs on some other organ systems will be covered in other modules)
