MEDIA, PUBLIC OPINION & PUBLIC POLICY
2012/2013, Semester 1
Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (Lee Kuan Yew School Of Public Policy)
Modular Credits: 4
This module offers opportunities for freshmen to work closely with members of the faculty on a variety of selected topics in different ways, each of which differs according to the expertise and interests of the seminar leader and of the students with whom he or she chooses to work. The operating premise of each seminar is that a member of the faculty will address a particular subject with which he or she is personally involved and will involve the members of the seminar in its investigation. The module requires participation in weekly discussions, attendance at regular talks, preparation of proposals, writing of reports and individual presentations. Besides being exposed in-depth to a particular issue, students will have ample opportunities to further develop their written and oral communication skills.
Formally, we meet every Tuesday and Friday from 2:00-3:30 pm at the CDTL Seminar room. However, from time to time, you can expect some re-scheduling to fit the project work and other curricular demands. You can expect some flexibility as we go along, which we shall discuss during our classes.
