Students are expected to understand basics of literature review and citations and references. Your assignments will be marked down dramatically if there are any submissions without proper citations and references.
Understanding of Statistics
Students who are not familiar with statistics are encouraged to use online resources in the module's weblinks to review their knowledge in this area. We will not be teaching basic descriptive statistics - so students are expected to understand basic concepts such as central tendency, standard deviation, variance, range, etc. Statistics for Psychology (5th Edition) by Aron, Aron, and Coups is an excellent introductory text book. A supplemental online site in the weblinks contains some online chapters. Students are encouraged to review the concepts thoroughly before they attend SG5021.
Students are expected to write grammatically correct papers. If you are uncomfortable with basic rules of English grammar, we strongly suggest that you reconsider taking this class or take supplemental e-learning materials prior to attendance. We are not be teaching English grammar - but your assignments will be marked down quite substantially if you turn in papers with grammar mistakes.
