The Mini Clinical Evaluation Exercise is often abbreviated to Mini-CEX. The mini-clinical evaluation exercise (mini-CEX) assessment tool was first developed in USA in the 1990s (Norcini, et al., 1995). It involves a senior clinician observing a trainee interaction with a patient, including the clinical assessment and communication, followed by a discussion of the further management plan with the trainee and giving immediate feedback.
This module is designed for those who are involved in assessing or providing feedback to doctors, nurses, medical students, nursing students, residents, and pharmacists. This module includes the basic concepts and principles of doing Mini-CEX.
