This is an introductory course for MPH students on health systems and policies. It will introduce participants to health systems and policy analysis and provide them with an overview of the tools of the trade. The course will use health systems of Singapore, UK and the USA as case studies to explain the organization of health systems, the health systems reform and the policy responses to public health challenges. Participants will be expected to prepare for each class through pre-lecture assignments, attend lectures, participate in group discussions, and make presentations. No disciplinary background is assumed, nor is any special familiarity with the field of healthcare required.
