TopThis course provides a practical introduction to the essentials of negotiating and drafting commercial contracts in the Common Law tradition.
The course begins with a refresh of plain English writing skills. The second part then reviews key Common Law concepts and considers the Common Law's attitudes to the commercial world. The third looks at the fundamental shape, structure and organisation of commercial contracts. The fourth deals with aspects of law routinely encountered by the practitioner and technical drafting issues. The fifth focuses on technical drafting. The sixth and final part considers the approach of managing legal risk and the practicalities of negotiation.
