Learning Outcomes

TopThis course aims to foster the critical thinking, reading and writing skills which engineering students need to be successful in the university and in the engineering profession. Learners are taught the fundamentals of analyzing written ideas/arguments of others and they simultaneously practice writing approaches typical of the academic and professional settings: exposition, evaluation, analysis, argumentation and research.

TopPrerequisites: A Pass or Exemption from English for Academic Purposes Modules Preclusions: ES2000

Top0 lecture hours per week.
3 tutorial hours per week.
0 lab hours per week.
5 hours for projects, assignments, fieldwork etc per week.
2 hours for preparatory work by a student per week.
