Teaching Modes

TopThis module will be taught with a 13-week series of lectures and "mini" weekly group projects. For each week, the first two hours would be lectures/seminars on vaious topics relating to Urban Policies and Real Estate Markets. The topic for each week will be reinforced in the following week with students (working in small teams) taking on examples or comparative case studies that relate to the subject taught in the preceding week, to illustrate the principles and concepts. These are small projects with each team making a 30 minutes presentation on the subject brief. The respective teams are expected to prepare a written report following the presentation.

Each team will comprise around 4 students and is expected to be of balanced composition in terms of student background and experience.

This mode of teaching/learning is to provide an opportunity not only to delve deeper into each topic taught, and provide useful and practical learning experiences, given the diverse background of the students. It will also enable students to participate actively in class and to share their professional experiences.

Students would be assessed for their participation in the group projects, individual contribution in class and the final examination.
