This course will provide an understanding of the legal issues arising from casualties involving ships. It will examine aspects of the law relating to nationality and registration of ships, the law relating to the management of ships, ship sale and purchase, and the law of collisions, salvage, towage, wreck and general average. Students successfully completing the course will be familiar with the international conventions governing these issues, as well as the domestic law of Singapore.
NUS Compulsory Core Law Curriculum or its equivalent.
9 sessions over 3 weeks: Three, 3-hrs continuous weekly seminars
Intensive: Wk 1 to 3; Dates: 13 - 30 Aug 2013.
