Each student is required to attend one practical session:
(1) Patch Clamp Electrophysiology at CeLS, Level 4 Neurobiology Programme Labs, Centre for Life Sciences (CeLS, LSI).
Students are to follow the schedules for the practical sessions assigned to them, as there is a constraint of lab space. As we are visiting research laboratories, all students are required to adhere strictly to laboratory safety regulations. Students are to bring with them their lab coats, and to be properly attired such as wearing close-toed shoes and not to wear shorts.
Note: Patch Clamp Electrophysiology: this is a sophisticated method to measure and record changes in current or voltage across excitable membranes. It is a powerful tool to understand ion channel properties or electrical properties of a cell.
