Objective - This module will study the issues and methods involved with community development and public housing. It will enable students to understand the policies and impact of public housing programs and the methods that may be pursued. Topics - The module examines the design issues connected to public housing in Singapore. It will include the study of the history of the housing program in Singapore to reinforce the understanding of national development. It will also examine other forms of low cost, high-rise high-density housing within Asia. The emphasis will center on housing in relation to community development, workplace, cultural and sociological issues
Prerequisites: AR3101 Design 5 Grade 'C'; AR3102 Design 6 Grade 'C' Preclusions: All non-architecture students
