This module examines the production of academic knowledge in the human sciences through an intensive experience in fieldwork and writing. As a USP writing module, the course builds on practices cultivated in compulsory WCT modules (UWC2101) and places special emphasis on the skills of posing relevant and critical questions, on transforming the student’s own empirical observations and collected data into written argumentation, and in authoring a meaningful ethnographic article based on their authentic fieldwork in mainland Southeast Asia.
UWC2101 as prerequisite.
Not applicable to USP modules.
