Lecture slides will be provided in the IVLE workbin. Weekly tutorials (also posted incrementally in the Workbin) will be conducted from week 3 onwards to cement concepts. For the practical case studies (e.g. on Flash, Maya, etc.) you are encouraged to come to the lecture theater with these platforms installed on your laptops so that you can replicate the lecture demos while you sit through the lecture. For commercial software (e.g. Maya, Flash, etc.), you can download a limited evaluation copy.
Students are encouraged to actively discuss problems in the CS3248 Discussion Forum or post questions/doubts. I will try my best to answer online queries in a timely fashion. You should regularly visit this forum to avoid losing out on the buzz :)
Student-sharing of past media development experience in the form of a mini lecture is strongly encouraged. Brave souls who prepare a 5-15 min talk will be awarded upto 5 bonus marks over and above the class tests, depending on the quality of the talk.
Lecture/tutorial attendance is compulsory. Attendance will be taken for tutorials, and regular absentees will be referred to the department. There will be no webcasts. A significant portion of assessment material may be drawn from class discussions, not available in lecture slides.
