IVLE Getting Sarted Tutorials is a series of show videos on hos to use IVLE. It is a basic user guide on the main features and functionalities of IVLE. Creating this guides will also help CIT better prepare itself for MOOC support.
No prerequisities are needed to take this course.
This is a
complete online tutorials
and will be run like an online courses.
Students and staff can clikc on the links to watch the videos relevant to what they want to learn or know more about IVLE.
Topic 1: IVLE First Steps
Here you learn about the IVLE main page, the IVLE staff workspace, setting access rights to the modules and tools, horizontal menu. IVLE module outline - the alternative view
Topic 2: Collaboration and Communication
you to the IVLE tools that support communication and collaboration such as announcement, chatroom, discussion forum, e-mail, groups and class rosters, communities, etc.
Topic 3: Class Management
You have students, what do you do next? How does IVLE integated to NUS Student Information System and show you all the students, tutorials and projects groups. The features of the class roster and marking attendance.
Topic 4: Resource Banks
What is the use of Resources Banks and how they can be used. It time permits a brief introduction on the others parts of the horizontal menu
Topic 5: Forum and Chat Room
We will go through in detail the discussion forum and its rich features and the chat room for synchronous collaboration.
Topic 6: Workbin
This IVLE's main document exchange repository and has many features. We will introduce you to the basics of the IVLE workbin, students submission folders, how to submits student assignments for plagiarism prevention, etc.
Topic 7: Multimedia
How is multimedia assets such as video, audio, webcast lectures, weblinks supported on IVLE. If I have a screen-recordings, how can I link it to my module. This will be shown through our online tutorials.
Topic 8: Assessments and Quizzes
The various assessment questions supported on IVLE and how they can be re-used for multiple assessments. Knowking how to create assessmtnets will also increase your knowledge and usage of IVLE's survey and polls tools as both have the same features and functionalities.
Topic 9: Project and Peer Review
How to go about creating projects and assigning students to the projects. We will also show the advanced features of peer-review and project groups.
Topic 10 Lesson Plan
How the Lesson Plan can be used to support guidance to the students taking you module. How the Lesson Plan can be a main avenue to teaching your modules on IVLE.
Topic 11: Community vs. FaceBook
The integrated IVLE community for social media and project work.
Topic 12: IVLE Usage
In this topic, we will take a look at the usage and statistics being show on how you and the students are using IVLE. What inference can you make with this data?
