Practical Work

Top

This is a project-based class and as such you will have a great deal of leeway in what you decided to do and how you choose to do it. You will design and implement some type of online instruction. This might be a group of studio lessons, a class or ensemble coaching or something else. It can be either real-time or not. It’s entirely up to you. You will create the lesson plans and all the support materials required. You will also setup the schedule, locate students. You will work in pairs or small groups, but each student will be expected to teach his or her own project. You will need to document and reflect on your own project and that of your fellow group members. More details will be provided in the project description handout.

Assessment

Top

The criteria for evaluating the project is negotiated between the student and the instructor based on established assessment models for online education.  Students will identify their objectives, explain how the learning environment supports those objectives and define how to evaluate the effectiveness of the instruction. They will then evaluate whether the objectives have been met for their own project and that of their peers.
