This 1-MC module adds a research component to the host module, enabling students to acquire more in-depth understanding of the research issues pertaining to the subject matter.

Co-read with host module in current semester or pass host module in previous semester. Student selection process is

1. If you have taken CS2010 or CS2020 before, you can choose to take CS2010R.
2. If you have taken CS3233, I do not recommend you to take CS2010R anymore.

1. CS2020 is actually NOT in this pre-clusion list. If you are an ex-CS2020 student, contact me (Steven) for more details.
2. ex CS3233 students are now NOT excluded, you can now take this 1 MC module but you are warned that you have gone through harder module before, so you have to lower your expectation for CS2010R.
Workload Components : A-B-C-D-E
A: no. of lecture hours per week
B: no. of tutorial hours per week
C: no. of lab hours per week
D: no. of hours for projects, assignments, fieldwork etc per week
E: no. of hours for preparatory work by a student per week
This equates to 3 hours/week * 13 teaching weeks or about 39 hours worth of workload throughout one semester.
CS2010R students who have taken CS2010 or CS2020 before do NOT have to attend CS2010 lectures/tutorials/lab demos (but you can, if you want to).
