This seminar will explore key legal questions related to international dispute settlement with a view to providing a broad overview of the field with respect to State-to-State, Investor-State, and commercial disputes. This course will include a discussion of the various types of international disputes and settlement mechanisms available for their resolution. It will explore the law pertaining to dispute settlement before the ICJ, WTO, ITLOS, as well as international arbitration, both Investor-State arbitration and commercial arbitration. The course will compare these different legal processes on issues such as jurisdiction, provisional remedies/measures, equal treatment, evidence, and enforcement.
