Plagiarism Prevention

The Plagiarism Prevention service assists you in detecting web-based plagiarism. This service is provided through Turnitin.com. NUS students can also submit their assignments directly to this service.

Software

We provide content authoring tools for faculty to create courseware. These include 
  • Enterprise Wide Wiki & Blog Service – coming in 2008 
     
  • Adobe Connect (Breeze) – a rapid content development tool for faculty to add multimedia elements into their PowerPoint slides for self-based learning 
     
  • Respondus – faculty can now create assessment questions offline on their own PC using this software and then upload it to IVLE. For Staff, You can also read about Respondus in IVLE at Resource Banks → Question Bank → Offline Question.
     
  • Camtasia - to record audio, video and actions on your computer screen (screencast) and publish them on the web for your students.
     
  • Wimba Voice Tools - a suite of applications that allows you to record and send voice over the Internet.

    • Voice Board: Post and listen to voice messages within discussion boards
    • Voice Presentation: Add web content alongside vocal messages
    • Wimba Podcaster: Create or upload podcasts for user subscription
    • Voice Email: Send and listen to voice through email messages
    • Voice Direct: Communicate with users in real-time, in a virtual room, using voice and text
    • Voice Recorder: Record and listen to voice on a web page

    Try out Wimba Podcaster in IVLE at Resource Banks → Multimedia Bank → Media → Create Media.
Conferencing and Virtual Classroom

If you need to conduct an video conference, present at a seminar overseas ‘virtually’ or conduct distance learning courses, you can use our multi-party video conferencing system or our virtual classroom software called Centra.
